Hope Gertrude Muli

Hope is the National Parliamentary Advisor for Kenya. She has 18 years of experience in the strengthening democratic and inclusive governance institutions and processes at the international, national and sub national levels.

She is passionate about advancing policies and gender equality, social accountability, multi-stakeholderism, open governance and sustainable development.  She has implemented and been part of consultancies funded by European Union, Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UKAID, United Nations Development Programme, UNWOMEN, German Agency for International Cooperation, Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, and the World Bank amongst others.

Hope, has also been a key note speaker, panelist, moderator and part of  advocacy delegations including at the 2019 United Nations High Level Political Forum, the 4th and 5th Global Open Government Partnership Summits, the 62nd session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, the 5th Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development, the 2018 Global Partnership for Social Accountability Forum hosted by World Bank Washington office, East Africa Public Procurement Forums, Open Contracting engagements amongst others. She was elected for two terms by the Kenyan Civil Society Organizations to serve as their Human Rights Representative in the Stakeholders Reference Group convened by the UNDP – Amkeni Wa Kenya programme.

She has a Masters and Bachelors degree in International Relations. She also has an advanced diploma in Strategic Management.
