The Africa Centre for Parliamentary Affairs (ACEPA) is an African not-for-profit organization registered in Ghana. It is dedicated to building the capacity of African Parliaments, elected representatives’ bodies at all levels of governance, and Civil Society Organizations. ACEPA supports African Countries in ensuring effective performance throughout the governance chain from local to national representative institutions.

ACEPA has excellent working relationships with more than 20 African countries/Parliaments. Its dedicated staff have over 40 years of combined work experience with Parliaments and Legislative African institutions.

ACEPA is the first of its kind, an African institution committed to supporting national and sub-national Legislatures across the continent to become more effective. The Centre was created to respond to the urgent needs and demands of African Legislatures. ACEPA serves as a Centre of Excellent for improving parliamentary practice on the African continent.

What We Do

ACEPA is committed to supporting national and sub-national Legislatures and representative assemblies across the continent to become more effective.

It serves as a Centre of Excellence for improving practices, policies, and procedures for more Democracy & Governance on the African continent, and beyond. Working with Parliamentarians, Parliamentary Staff, Civil Society Organizations, and all stakeholders including citizens interested in promoting good governance.
