Gender Equality Champions in Ghana’s Parliamentary Service- ILGRP Project

The Inclusive Legislatures for Gender Responsive Policies (ILGRP) project in Ghana organised an Orientation Session for the second cohort of Gender Equality (GE) Champions from the Parliamentary Service of the Parliament of Ghana. This initiative aims to equip a group of dedicated staff members with the knowledge and tools to advocate for gender responsiveness and sensitivity within parliamentary administration.

The Gender Equality Champions will play a key role in ensuring that gender inclusion is integrated into policies, practices, and procedures within the Parliamentary Service. A particular focus will be on mainstreaming gender in Human Resources management, ensuring that workplace policies and administrative decisions are more equitable and inclusive.

By establishing a second cohort of champions, ILGRP continues to build momentum for lasting institutional reforms that prioritize gender equality and inclusivity. These staff members will work towards embedding gender-responsive policies within Parliament, fostering an environment where all individuals, regardless of gender, have equal opportunities to contribute and thrive.

ACEPA and its partners remain committed to supporting the GE Champions as they lead this important change within the institution. We look forward to seeing the impact of their advocacy and efforts in shaping a more inclusive and gender-sensitive Parliamentary Service.
