Delocalized Meeting of the ECOWAS Parliament

From August 12th to 15th, 2024, a Delocalized Meeting of the Joint Committee on Administration, Finance and Budget; Public Accounts; and Macroeconomic Policy and Economic Research of the ECOWAS Parliament took place in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.

The meeting’s theme was “The Role of ECOWAS Parliament in Community Budget Formulation and Monitoring”. Dr. Rasheed Draman, our Executive Director, acted as the key resource person for three sessions on: “The Role of the ECOWAS Parliament in Community Budget Formulation and Management”, “Challenges in Considering Community Budgets: Methods for Mitigating the Problem” and “Formulating a Mechanism for Monitoring the Community Budget”.

He provided valuable insights into the roles that the ECOWAS Parliament can undertake as a legislative body.
