A team from the Data Management Department of the Parliament of Ghana visits ACEPA

The Deputy Director and a Data Management Officer from the Data Management Department of the Parliament of Ghana paid a visit to our office today. The visit was to explore opportunities for collaboration between the newly created department and the African Centre for Parliamentary Affairs (ACEPA).

The visit was informed by the African Center for Parliamentary Affairs’ ongoing support to the Parliament of Ghana under the Hewlett Foundation-funded Data for Accountability Project (DAP) which is working to institutionalize evidence use for decision making in the Parliament of Ghana. We are happy to note that a DAP project initiative- “SDGs/Statistics Desk”- triggered discussions around a data centre in the Parliament of Ghana. We are therefore pleased with the creation of this important department – the Data Management Department.

We commend the Parliament of Ghana on this innovative initiative.
