Senior Governance Advisor, Mr. Issifu Lampo, participates in a panel discussion on Evidence Use for Policymaking

Development Impact West Africa (DIWA) organized a workshop focused on the use of evidence in policymaking in West Africa. Mr. Issifu Lampo, our Senior Governance Advisor representing the African Centre for Parliamentary Affairs (ACEPA), attended the event and participated in a panel discussion alongside distinguished panelists from the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC) and the Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana).

The workshop provided a platform for in-depth knowledge-sharing on various aspects of evidence use in policy decisions within Ghana. Discussions covered practical applications, challenges, and ethical considerations surrounding the integration of evidence in policymaking. The panelists shared their experiences and insights on how evidence-based decisions can enhance policy effectiveness and contribute to sustainable development.

Mr. Lampo shared valuable perspectives on the importance of evidence-informed policies in strengthening governance and improving public sector performance. The exchange of ideas among participants highlighted the need for robust data, transparent methodologies, and ethical standards in the policymaking process.

Our participation in this workshop was valuable in fostering meaningful dialogue and collaboration among key stakeholders in the policy community. The insights gained from this event will inform our continued efforts to promote good governance and evidence-based decision-making in Ghana and beyond.
