Mr. Issifu Lampo
Mr. Lampo has been in the fore-front of parliamentary strengthening and capacity building of parliaments across Africa. Since 2002. He has played a lead role in the development of and delivering training modules for strengthening Parliaments, NGO and Civil society advocacy efforts, enabling to apply participatory tools (Community Score Card and Citizens report Card) in engaging government and public policy reform
As the lead Governance Specialist for the Institutions for Inclusive Development (I4ID) project in Tanzania (August 2016-2017), Mr. Lampo provided technical leadership and management for the project work relating to democratic institutions (political parties, parliament, and elections) in Tanzania.
Mr. Lampo’s responsibilities included designing an approach to work; providing demand‐led support to parliament, political parties, and elections; and providing ongoing technical support and practical guidance to integrate an appreciation of the role and potential democratic institutions into issue-based strategies and interventions.
Mr. Lampo served as one of the lead specialists and trainers for Parliamentary oversight of poverty reduction through community‐based monitoring of poverty (deploying participatory tools such community score card and citizens’ report card in the assessment of service delivery programs and projects), and Change Management.
In this role, he worked with Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs), civil Society Organisations, and parliaments in many African countries including Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Benin, Burkina Faso, Niger, Mali, Senegal, Botswana, and Ghana.
Mr. Lampo also served as team leader under the Austrian Parliamentary Support Programme for 15 parliaments in Africa, where he was instrumental in engaging organisations of civil society to be linked with Ghana’s Parliament and other parliaments across Africa.
As an evaluation specialist, he led a three‐member Evaluation Team that undertook District Assemblies Performance Assessment (DPAT) of five District Assemblies in the Central Region of Ghana under the auspices of the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD) in 2019.
Mr. Issifu Lampo holds an MSc. In Development Studies from South Bank University, London, United Kingdom, and BA and MA in International Relations from Kiev State University, Ukraine.
